Contractors and the Coronavirus

COVID-19 and the workplace

Operations up and running during the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Five Star is closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and we are taking a number of precautionary measures for the health and safety of our customers and team members. Our goal is to do everything we can to help keep our operations up and running and people safe during this unprecedented and evolving situation. Safety is our number one concern, for our customers and for ourselves. For us, safety is just an extension of our health, and while we are taking this pandemic seriously, we are not panicking, but are in a state of preparedness in our personal life as well as the workplace, most often this being your home. The good news is that according to OSHA, the risk of transmission for those employed outside the healthcare, border protection, airline and other sectors that have a higher-than-average chance of coming in contact with infected individuals is low.

We have a plan set in place that includes health and safety protocols. In the case of one of our employees showing any sign of illness, please know we will do everything we can to avoid passing it on to anyone – that may mean having to postpone your job if necessary. While it is not common for us to have that happen, we understand this is a health emergency declared at its highest level and for the safety of everyone, will follow protocol as recommended by King County Public Health. Like many, we are affected by the global shortage of pandemic-related products, including personal protective equipment. In the case that we run out of our supply and can not quickly obtain merchandise, we must prioritize the health and safety of our employees and if we feel it is unsafe to do the job without the proper protective equipment, we will notify you and come up with a plan to continue the job as soon as it is safe to do so at a time that works for you, the customer.

If there are any concerns, please call our office at 206-290-3928.
